This CAEP-accredited online program requires you to study and apply research concerning teaching and learning so that you can obtain your master’s degree plus add an endorsement to your Louisiana teaching certificate. Endorsements provide the opportunity to specialize in a specific subject area for career advancement.
We offer a wide array of different elective courses, allowing you the chance to customize your degree to fit your interests and career goals. Even better, pairing these electives can qualify you for three add-on endorsements: reading specialist, ESL and/or teacher leader. You could even double-up and qualify for two add-on endorsements in the state of Louisiana.
Our goal is to ensure that your learning is based on your personal career goals, so we offer multiple electives to choose from. Electives cover topics such as reading development, remedial teaching methods and school leadership. Combine the various options so that you can become skilled in the area where you want to focus your career. You will work with an advisor to select electives that meet state requirements for add-on certifications: reading specialist, ESL and/or teacher leader.

- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 2.5 undergraduate GPA
- Statement of purpose
To apply for the M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction online program, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree
- Transcripts from all previously attended institutions
- Minimum 2.5 GPA for all undergraduate coursework
- Statement of purpose (two to three paragraphs that address length of teaching career, current position, roles held and goals for the program)
International Applicants must meet all standard admissions requirements as well as the following:
- English Proficiency Requirement (can be unofficial copies). Official transcripts are required before enrollment. Some countries eligible for waiver. Completion of a bachelor's degree in the US will satisfy English proficiency requirement.
- Transcripts: All foreign transcripts (universities outside of the U.S.) must be evaluated by a NACES Evaluation Agency. An official course-by-course evaluation must be included
- Passport: A copy of the student’s passport must be provided.
- Program is not eligible for issuance of I-20's.
