After completing the first two courses on School Leadership and Leading the Learning Environment, you will be able to apply to the Louisiana Department of Education for the Teacher Leader endorsement to be added to your teaching license. Note that all students must earn a passing score on the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA) prior to degree completion.

  • Minimum 2.5 undergraduate GPA

To apply for the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership online program, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Transcripts from all previously attended institutions
  • Valid teaching certificate
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA for all undergraduate coursework
  • Professional resume
  • Reference letter from current school principal including documentation of willingness to supervise the applicant’s internship
  • Two professional or academic references
  • Two years of full-time teaching experience in a PK-12 school

International Applicants must meet all standard admissions requirements as well as the following:

  • English Proficiency Requirement (can be unofficial copies). Official transcripts are required before enrollment. Some countries eligible for waiver. Completion of a bachelor's degree in the US will satisfy English proficiency requirement.
  • Transcripts: All foreign transcripts (universities outside of the U.S.) must be evaluated by a NACES Evaluation Agency. An official course-by-course evaluation must be included
  • Passport: A copy of the student’s passport must be provided.
  • Program is not eligible for issuance of I-20's.
